Stephen M from GCVI receives his gold medal at Skills Canada

Stephen M., centre, raises the Ontario flag after receiving the gold medal in Electronics at the Skills Canada National Competition on May 16. The Guelph CVI student competed against peers from across Canada to take the top spot in his division. Unfortunately Stephen will not be joining Team Canada at the 2013 World Skills in Germany, as previously reported -- that honour goes to a post-secondary student from Conestoga College. The good news is that Stephen could get another shot at international competition when World Skills comes to São Paulo, Brazil in 2015. The Upper Grand District School Board congratulates the hundreds of skills competitors who represented their schools at regional, provincial and national events.
